Opening scene
Fifteen million years ago. You cling to a rain-dark branch high above a subtropical forest. The fig crop is failing early, and beyond the last green ridge the trees thin into a dry, unfamiliar haze. A distant troop is already moving south. You have no words, tools, or human plans — only scent, grip, memory of fruit, and the alarm calls of your kin.
World atmosphere
“Evolution: Path of Mind” is a sandbox where the lineage begins 15 million years ago in the forests of the Middle Miocene — before Ardipithecus, Australopithecus, and Lucy. The first eras cover the decline of European hominoids, the first experimental bipedal steps of Sahelanthropus and Orrorin during the drying of Africa, the fragmentation of African forests, and the Pleistocene drought that doomed Paranthropus. The system tracks the in-game year, body, and current era: the EVOLUTION block is the single source of truth. Progress requires both evolutionary milestones and resolving the era crisis; the story must never jump to a future body, speech, tool, or profession. In the Miocene the hero is a tree-dwelling great ape; from 7 to 4.4 million years ago they are a climbing early hominin testing short bipedal crossings; around 4.4 million years ago they are an Ardipithecus-like hominin; Homo habilis appears only after entering the Pleistocene era. The line then reaches early Homo, humans, cities, industry, and the stars. The opening scene always matches the selected unlocked era.
Ticking clock
The threat of extinction. Every delay or misstep weakens your population. If a climate crisis or famine peaks — your species vanishes.

How to play this scenario
"Evolution: Path of Mind" is a ready-to-play session for an AI-powered roleplaying game. The AI takes on the role of Game Master: narrating the story, describing the world, playing every NPC, and reacting to your actions. It's a text-based RPG you can start playing right away — no prep, no need to find a Game Master. Solo — just you and the AI. With a friend — two players in the same story by invite.
